It’s hard to discount Taylor Swift’s song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” The catchy pop tune has crossed over and sales of the single and the full CD are brisk. One thing the GRAMMY® voters like is success, and who’s been more successful than Taylor? Of course, the Black Keys, media darlings as they are, have their song “Lonely Boy” in the running too. It is probably the second most likely song to win, but Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger” is also a strong candidate with a popular song who is poised to upset both Swift and the Black Keys. The Black Keys are also nominated in the Best Rock Performance category for “Lonely Boys and Best Rock Album for “El Camino.”

The Black Keys have an inside track to the best album award. They’re so popular that it’s hard to believe that they won’t win the award. “Stronger” has a good chance for Song of the Year,” as does Carla Rae Jepsen’s inescapable “Call Me Maybe.” Jepsen and Clarkson will also be battling for Best Pop Solo Performance for the same songs, so it’ll be interesting to see if one song sweeps, or if there’s a split in the voting. Clarkson is also nominated in the Best Pop Vocal Album category so it’s possible that she could run away with a slew of awards.

In the R&B categories, Kanye West, Drake and Li’l Wayne have a few nominations. Kanye will probably come away with at least one of the awards. LMFAO is after the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with their infectious rant “Sexy And I Know It.”
